With the festive season fast approaching, STORM was commissioned to help get shoppers in Southend into the Christmas spirit – through the development of a suite of adverts, posters, publications and branding for the 'Christmas on Sea' Spectacular, Southend's official start to the holiday season.

Building upon the 'Christmas in Southend' brand we developed last year, we were able to bring a disparate range of festive events together under one banner, delivering a consistent and coherent message of seasonal joy – whether it was promoting a traditional market taking place in the High Street or the main event... Southend's Christmas Spectacular itself.

At the core of this communications campaign was a pocket-size publication, packed with information about all the events taking place, as well as practical information on extended opening hours and parking offers. In addition to the information, we also built on the success of last year's competition, with shoppers once again able to win a fantastic High Street themed prize worth £1,000 by texting the answer to a simple multiple choice question.
Above and beyond the mini-magazine, we also developed a range of posters and adverts to help further raise awareness. With appearances in local free-sheets through to Council magazines, we were able to maximise the event's coverage and ensure everyone knew about the great events taking place in Southend throughout the season.
