civic publications: borough councils

Outlook is Southend-on-Sea Borough Council's quarterly magazine. STORM was commissioned to redevelop the existing tabloid-format 'Borough News' into something that residents would actually want to read. We re-launched the publication as a bright, easy-to-read magazine, containing information on local shops and restaurants alongside council news. As well as providing our design and copywriting skills, we also sell advertising within the publication. Outlook continues to go from strength to strength, with special bumper 40pp editions developed to coincide with the Maxims Casino Southend Airshow.

Viewpoint is Castle Point Borough Council's quarterly magazine. STORM was commissioned to redevelop the existing tabloid-format 'Borough News' into something residents would actually want to read. We re-launched the publication as a 'Sunday Supplement' style magazine, containing information on local shops and restaurants alongside reader-friendly council news. As well as providing design and copywriting skills, we also sell advertising within the publication. Viewpoint has continued to develop, growing from 24pp at launch to its current format of 32pp.
